February WOOFA party finish.............

I was frantically trying to get this quilt and Raggedy Ann done before my newest Granddaughter was born on the 11th.........I was about a week late but got it done!

I included some gifts for my other 2 granddaughters but I'm not sure they liked them....lol........

Sisters each got a pillow case and new doll outfit.....

Even Tita, their kitty loved the box everything was packed in....

as much as Cali, my kitty did.....

I am linking up today at Chez's Gone Stitching February WOOFA party.......Click HERE to check out what other's are working on........

Done and Done, Done, Done, Done and Done.............

Yes........that is 6 "Done's".............the first two are the quilt and Raggedy Ann for my new Granddaughter.............

I quilted in the ditch then quilted diagonals in the smaller squares...and a meander throughout with an outline meander in the blocks with the dancers...........

and here is Raggedy Ann, whose "real" name is yet to be decided when Lila is old enough to name her..............

.........and since it's always more fun when packages contain something for everybody............here are the next 4 "done's"....

I made a couple of pillow cases and doll outfits for my other granddaughters.........

First is a Mermaid pillow case for Iris........(albeit with crooked lines...I pulled an "all-nighter and the lines looked straight at 4 o'clock in the morning....lol) and a mermaid outfit for her American Girl Doll........the mermaid is a paperpieced pattern I had made last year.......

and here is a Moana Pillow Case and Doll Outfit for Ella's Raggedy Ann (named "Nana Baby") The Moana motif is a Machine Embroidery........

So now all that is left to do is box them up and send it off!.....ummmmm.........and go take a nap!

Sandwiched and ready to quilt and bind........Raggedy's clothes cut out and ready to sew up!

Well I'm a little off goal since I was hoping to mail this out on Monday but still making progress........

Here is the back of the quilt............Not sure what kind of quilting I will do but I do think this pattern probably calls for stitch in the ditch to show off the diamonds nicely in the back........might do a machine embroidery in the white areas but nothing is written in stone here............

I got a little off center with the label......I usually embroider before I sew but this time I embroidered after.........I tell myself I'm the only one who will notice..........right?  Ok then......off to do some quilting................

Flimsy Done!

I worked on and off all day and got the flimsy done.  Tomorrow I will sandwich, quilt, and bind .........then it will be ready to send on Monday!  Go Go Go!

I wish I had appliqued her name with the Fuschia but I wasn't going to start over........so....it is what it is.........I know we quilters are always wishing we had done something different but as long as I don't forget to put the label on I will be ecstatic!

Now all I can say is it's time for bed.........lots to do tomorrow!

WOOFA Progress!

Ok I don't know if this project really qualifies as a UFO but I sort of shuffled it into my WOOFA list because it was a "special" case....

So anyway.........here is my progress on the "Granddaughter Kit"........these are just the blocks laid out on the floor......tomorrow I will begin sewing them together... I ended up making 12 blocks instead of 9 because the 9 just didn't look like enough.......

It will have a border with her name at the top and the Raggedy Ann's dress will be made from the floral fabric which I will also use for the backing......onward!

I'm Here!

Oh my goodness.........is 2020 really over?  I think maybe I have dropped the blogging ball for a bit but I'm back!  The holidays were not the usual but still quite enjoyable. The family was together "apart" and met though Zoom instead of the usual get together at my Mom's house in New Mexico.

On January 11 I became a Nana to my 3rd granddaughter and I am working on what my youngest son calls the "Granddaughter Kit"

Each of my other 2 granddaughters has received a quilt and a Raggedy Ann Doll from Nana. My son takes a photo each month of the first year on the quilt from Nana so I have until February 11 to get this done and mailed!   (I don't think I'm going to get it there by the 11th, but she will be a month old until March 11, right?

I have added this to my Woofa List and will have it done for February WOOFA.

Here are the 9 machine embroidered blocks I will be setting on point for the quilt top....

And here is Raggedy Ann......still have to make her clothes......

Cheer me on!  I'm great with deadlines but I'll take all the encouragement I can get!
