Finding happiness should not be seen as finding a needle in a haystack. Happiness is within. Each day is a blessing that brings an abundance of happiness. Therefore, finding happiness should be like finding a gift in a stack of gifts. -Steve Maraboli
Goodness, it has been two weeks since I posted......I don't think it is "Spring Fever" because I am certainly getting lots of other things done...............I have done a little sewing.....I have done a little gardening and I even got a chance to go home to New Mexico for a visit with Mom and Dad, my brother and sister......
So I also got a couple of small projects done...............I made another mug rug/mouse pad for my son.......(yes he is a Texan...how did you guess???....lol)
I put a label on the Americana Tablecloth so I could give it to my Mom as an early Mother's Day gift.....
and also made a thread catcher for her.......
I sort of combined a couple of tutorials I found on the internet and I think when I make the next one I will change it up even a bit more......
I used the pin cushion and hanging straps from one tutorial and the basket from another......and, of course, I had to add a little "ME" (machine embroidery) to it too!
I got some nice mail this week.....my swap partner, Lori, sent this pretty "Scrapbagger" block to me.....
and she also sent this gorgeous "Broken HourGlass" potholder and her sweet daughter made the precious bunting.....Lori included a lovely handmade card with it......Thank you so much, Lori, I love it all.....
So I guess that is all I have been up to.....tonight I start my work week again.......off to get a couple of winks so I can stay awake til 7:00 in the morning...................Ta-Ta for now.......

Hi Ida:)
We all have times when the blogging gets neglected, don't worry too much... you sure have been busy, I really love the thread catcher, great to put your own 'stamp' on it!
And lovely gifts from Lori too, enjoy
x
Seriously? The Cowboys? Oh well, I guess we can still be friends. You've bee a busy girl! I need to make one of those pincushion/scrap bags for myself.
All your stitching looks great! I need me one of those thread catchers...
I was thinking of making a thread catcher also, what did you use to weigh down the pin cushion?
Ohh, I remember those nights of work.. I don't miss staying up all night! Your post is full of fun things, IJ! Love your projects. Have a great night at work. xo
I know...you've just been having too much fun to blog!!! Isn't it amazing how the days get away from us?
Your Texas mug rug looks great. I'm sure your son will love it.
Love the thread catcher. The ME on it is so cute too. I think on my next one I am going to attach the pin cushion with velcro so I can seperate it when I want to dump my scraps and threads out.
You have been busy! Love what you have accomplished!
I'm glad you haven't posted in a while because I haven't read blogs in a while, so now I don't feel quite so behind!
I am not a Cowboys fan, but I love the tablecloth tag and the thread catcher, and especially the ME that went into all of these projects :-).
I accomplished nothing at all in the past week (or 2 or 3), so even your "little projects" are way ahead of mine!
