Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart. | |

I'm still here and still plugging away at a few projects.........just spent a few days visiting with family for 4th of July in New Mexico.....what fun! Also got a good dose of "Nana time" so I am rejuvenated!
While I was away I got some wonderful mail.......my swap partner, Kat, sent me this fabulous mug rug...........
Kat also sent me some goodies.....a jar of Adirondack maple syrup, a sweet ladybug notepad and some lucky shells......
Thank you, my friend.....I love it all! Since this is my One Flower Wednesday offering, as well, I don't want to forget to remind you to check out the other flowers in Karen's garden this week......just click HERE
I also managed to come home from my visit with something from my Mom.....this gorgeous copper pitcher which she had put outside "to clean up"...........ummm....I sort of asked for it (probably with this little sad face that only children can get away with) and she gave it to me......I wish now that I had taken a "before" photo......
this is after the first cleaning I gave it. I also pulled out the stand, which had been crushed up under the bottom of the pitcher.......it still has a way to go but it is already gorgeous, don't you think?
There is a little second hand shop that my sister and I like to go to when we are visiting Mom and Dad in New Mexico......they usually have some nice quilting fabrics that we like to snatch up......unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go there this time.......but fortunately, my sis did and I managed to finagle my way to getting this piece to blue gingham from her.....
Does anybody else but me see Dorothy Gale of the Wizard of Oz here??? I thought this would make a wonderful border for my Oz Wall hanging.......of course that means I actually have to get back to working on it......but maybe this fabric will help.......
we shall see.......Ta-Ta for now.................

Lovely post as usual Ida. I love your mug rug and great presents.
Yes I agree the fabric has Dorothy written all over it :-))
Nice mug rug. I like how it's so full of things you like. Kat did a good job. Hmmmm, I seem to recognize that copper container as I have a couple myself. I even remember when Mama and I bought them at that copper plae on Stiles Road (no longer there.) That was a long time ago. Can't wait to see what you do with that blue gingham. Something for your Oz wall hanging sounds interesting.
The minute I saw that gingham, I thought of Dorothy!! What a great mug rug, now I hope to see more of yours, soon.
What a gorgeous mug rug
Love the border you picked out and what an awesome find on the copper pitcher.
A fabulous mug rug for sure and I do love the copper pitcher. And, yes I do see Dorothy!
Well, I didn't think of Dorothy, but I do love gingham, and pounce on it whenever any gingham fabrics arrived in our opshop! The copper pitcher is very special, for more than one reason - a lovely memento of your mother, and a great item with multiple uses around your home.
What a nice mug rug. Her detail on it is beautiful too.
I love your copper pitcher. That is really a lovely piece.
Oh yes.....that is Dorthy all the way through. I hope it brings you back to OZ.
Gorgeous mug rug and pitcher.Happy summer time!

Such a beautiful mug rug Ida - and yes the embroidery on it is very sweet too!
Love the pitcher, what a great item to keep...
Your copper pot looks great and love the hexie mug rug. The blue gingham does remind me of Dorothy...
That fabric is perfect for the border! I love the lady bug!
Love your mug rug, the lady bug is cute.
Great gift your Mum gave you, lovely keepsake.
Cheers, Anita.
Hey, that fabric looks PERFECT for Dorothy so I hope this means we will start seeing the Wizard of Oz piece making a come back!!!! P.S. that copper pot looks so good!!!
Well it took me long enough to comment!! But m glad you like the mug rug! I thought it was funny that we both used pinks and greens, diagonal corner stripe, applique and ladybugs!! I collected those shells on The beach near my house on the 4th of July, and the syrup came from my favorite place on earth, the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York.
I saw Dorothy right away in that fabric.... You know I am anxious to see more progress on that wall hanging!!
Xoxox
I love the mug rug....I am sure you do too and I am so jealous of your nana time.
