Well ya'll know that Irene and I always disqualify ourselves from being prizewinners on the Parade but we always post our pincushions......so today I'm linking up to the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade 2017!
I posted this pincushion a couple of years ago but I think I forgot to show it on any of the parades.......I made it from a little alarm clock my Dad gave me way back when I was 18 years old and in the hospital....I proceeded to knock it off my night stand the very next day and it never worked again.....I loved it so much that I kept it all these years and then a couple of years ago I covered it and made a pincushion that I could look at every day.......
Awhile back I got into a "half doll" pincushion craze.....I found these two dolls on ebay for a very good price because someone had painted over the porcelain....The one on the left is (I think) a German Bathing Beauty doll....the other a Japanese Flapper.......
After scraping all that ugly paint off I was able to transform the ladies into this.....
I also wanted to show you my birthday presents from my Sis..........
Irene knows how much I love boxes and she found this gorgeous wooden box and recovered the top with a beautiful embroidery design she made......the round one is made from a tin can "cut and curl" design she found at an estate sale and then made a pin cushion to fit right into it! I love these gifts but not as much as I love my Sis!
and now for my "ugly pincushion"................you know how earlier I said I had enlarged the in the hoop sun pattern to make the sunflower pincushion??? And, Wow, it was so easy and turned out so nice........so why couldn't I just do the same for this pattern from the same designer but in a flower design........?
That should be easy-peasy....right???? ........NOT!
I hope you are all checking out all the linkups on the PPPP link-up page......and better yet I hope you will join the party!

What a great idea with the alarm clock! Oh, that poor flower pincushion!
Disqualified? Did you say I'm disqualified from winning any of those fabulous prizes? Oh well, I guess it's only fair since I lover helping you hose the Pincushion Parade. I love, love all of your pincushions and I ❤️ my sister too.
Hi Ida,lovely post you are very clever my friend,i still like your flower pin cushion xx
The clock Pincushion is lovely and a great way to keep it..
You have some pretty Pin Cushions and I even like the flower..
What a great idea to use the clock as a pin cushion - I love it. You have done a great job with the two ladies and the box from Irene is gorgeous. xx
What a lovely "parade"... and a FuN get together... xox
LoVe the watch cushion.
I have to say I so love the clock pin cushion.... what a memory to cherish and to see every day...great parade
You are so creative! I love what you have done with the clock. I also like how you fixed up those porcelain dolls....amazing! The embroidered star looks incredible as a pincushion - such great colors too. Thanks for sharing all of these with us.
So much fun! I love your pincushion parade! I also love the pincushions you have added to the parade this year. I like the little clock too and I remember the first time you posted the picture because I had never heard that story before. You have some very unique entries this year and even your poor flower looks cute to me :)
You are so talented and so productive. I love your flowers, even if you don't think they are perfect! And the dolls - what a concept. I think I lead a sheltered life - at least when it comes to pincushions. Love your parade.
I like the way you have managed to save the clock, The sunflowers are lovely and the box top also.
What a wonderful way to use your clock! So much better than having it stuck in a drawer or, worse, throwing it out. I love the 'ladies' but have to say that my favourite has to be the box.
These are all so great! You are so talented!! I love the dolls and the dresses! So cute :)
What a great idea for your alarm clock!
What a treasure! That's a great way to keep your Dad's gift in use after all those years! I expect it is a very sturdy pincushion that won't fall over when you are using it.
All your pincushions are gorgeous, and I like the flower you don't like too!
