My Entry for the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade.....

I am linking up today with the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade on THIS blog!  I have disqualified myself from winning any prizes but I have not disqualified myself from entering the parade and showing you my pincushions......after all, the qualifications for entering clearly stated,  (and I quote)

"....bring em all....no pincushion will be                                                              turned away at this parade!"

First of all, here is this year's parade's GRAND MARSHALL!

My most adored and favorite pincushion was made for me by my eldest son, Jeremy, when he was 12 years old....some 30+ years ago.  (Because back then I didn't have ANY pincushions at all!)   It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Around the same time he also refinished a vintage sewing cabinet for my birthday that he had found....I posted a photo of the cabinet on THIS POST if you would like to see it.

My Pincushions below were either made by me or given to me by one of my sisters or my niece this year:

This kind of looked to me like they did in old Western times....They put the chuckwagon in the middle then "circled the wagons".....lol......
All these except for the one from my son were all acquired this year either as gifts or made during my pincushion making frenzy....

...oh! and this adorable turtle was busy in my sewing room when the wagons were circling the chuck wagon above......he is a gift from one of my Sisters.

More gifts! A sweet yellow flower, a 3-house village and a pretty calico fabric tomato pincushion.

I made these 3...from left ....
a jewel box pincushion, kaleidoscope/selvage one,
and a little sewing travel case.

Mini pincushion gifts to stick on my machine.

3 pinwheels

and, finally, a sugar bowl with pincushion in the lid, 2 Raggedy Anne mini's and a biscornu made from an orphan patch from another project

I've had so much fun making and receiving pincushions for this year's parade!  I hope if you haven't already that you will link up too and show us your beauties!

A gorgeous array of pincushions, all so colourful and different. I really like the pink travel sewing case and the lovely turtle but my attention is drawn to that selvage one, such a good way to use up stash and tiny pieces.

I love your circling wagons lineup of pincushions. What a fun way to show them off. It's funny that you put your most favorite pincushion made by Jeremy and I added my most favorite made by Sara back when they were just youngsters. Funny how those pincushions will remain special forever. Thank you for hosting this lovely parade and organizing all the festivities :) It's looking like it is going to be one to remember for sure :)

So many beautiful pincushions. I love everyone of them. I started to make my blog post, but found that I had so many pincushions I want to show you. I have to wait until tomorrow to take some more pictures. Thanks for hosting this parade.

Ida, first of all, thanks for organizing the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade. It has been so much fun preparing for the parade and now showing off what we’ve done. I like all of your pincushions. I don’t think there’s such a thing as an ugly pincushion. I also like the way you decided to show off your parade, wagon train style. The only thing missing is the cowboy pincushion. Maybe a project for another year.

I love all of your pincushions!! I especially love the darling little Raggedy Anns!! Thanks so much for setting up the Pincushion Parade!! It is always such fun. And thank you for your continued help in my "novice efforts" of sewing! :)

Wow - you are a pincushion collector extraordinaire! I can see why your most-loved is the one your son made for you - it would be my favourite too. Glad I played along because the parade gave me incentive to use a 'thing' that had been lurking in my sewing room for far too long.

When I first started learning to quilt, I learned to make a pincushion in a jar lid with a larger circle of fabric. (like a mayo-jar lid) I've since done that with lids from water bottles to take with me in a checkbook box now antique! That is handy for take along. with the hard bottom it keeps pins from sticking through, into ME.

I've come back for a second look and I was just thinking how adorable the little Raggedy Ann bottle cap pincushions turned out. I just love the one with the actual Raggedy face embroidered on. It reminds me of my little Raggedy Ann doll which I treasure to this day :)

Love the wagon wheel idea,

What a wonderful selection of pin cushions especially sewing them in the wagon position. Love your raggedy ann. Thanks for organising this parade.

You have so many wonderful pincushions! Treasured ones, like Jeremy’s, always hold such a special place in our hearts. I’m so glad that you decided to do this again. One of my favorite pincushions is the adorable cactus from you. I will try to get a post up before the parade ends. Thanks for hosting this.

Hi Ida!
